This rhyming book describes all the various beasts, dragons and other monsters that live under the bed. There’s even a horrible, hairy, green monster with warts on his nose and a huge mouth and paws. But the twist in this tale is that the creatures are actually terrified of the ‘frightening thing inside the bed’. The beasts and monsters run away from the bedroom, stumbling and falling over each other in the rush for the front door (‘They all run out in a terrible stew, For the frightening thing in the bed is…YOU!’). The final illustration shows a little boy grinning in bed, as the author tells the reader that there are no monsters under the bed any more, but it might be worth having a quick look just to be sure.
