Tinyasaurus comes from a family of dinosaurs. He is the youngest but is fed up with getting told he is too little to do things. He wants to do things like his big sister, ‘Bigsissysaurus’ does, like go to the sludgy, squelchy swamp by himself, but he is not allowed and he is absolutely forbidden to go to the Ooh-Ouch mountain. One day he is sitting watching his mum’s eggs when a big ‘Nastysaurus’ comes to try and steal them. He runs with the eggs and gets chased by Nastysaurus, but because he is little, the big dinosaur can’t catch him. Protecting the eggs, he manages to hide in a very small space in the Ooh-Ouch mountain where Nastysaurus can’t reach him. At the end of the story, mum and dad dinosaur come to rescue him and he asks if they are angry with him for coming to the forbidden mountain. They hug him and tell him he is a hero for saving the eggs. The eggs then hatch and the thrilled Tinyasaurus becomes ‘Bigbrosaurus’ to his newly hatched siblings! The best Bigbrosaurus ever!

Things we liked:
Some lovely descriptive language and use of alliteration . Also some onomatopoeic content like plip plop plippy plop and swish swash swishy swash, good for getting the children involved with the reading of the story.
Worth noting:
The part where Nastysaurus chases Tinysaurus might frighten some children.
