The Frog in the story learns that doing simple festive activities with a friend can be as much (if not more) fun than a lavish, all-singing-all-dancing Christmas. The Bear who welcomes Frog into his home is generous and considerate. 
A very excited frog turns up on Bear’s doorstep clutching a brochure. He’s arrived for the ‘Christmas EXTRAVAGANZA’ experience. Bear gently explains to him that his map is upside down and he’s on the wrong side of the world, but kindly invites him to stay for Christmas anyway.
Bear is worried that the simple and quiet pastimes he can offer (snowball fights, baking, real snow-covered trees, and looking for reindeer) won’t match up to the supersonic sleigh rides, singing trees and spectacular light shows that Frog’s brochure boasts. However, Frog is far from disappointed, declaring his winter wonderland adventure with Bear (complete with a stunning Northern Lights finale) is ‘the BEST’, and hopes he can return the following year for more fun.
