The author incorporates several good pieces of advice in the book, namely the idea of carrying a lollipop to lessen the ear-popping sensation, and promotes general reassurance tactics to alleviate the child’s anxiety.
There is loads of useful information in this story, telling a child what to expect at each stage of their flight, and explaining the processes involved in simple, fun terms.

Worth noting:

Suzie is flying for the first time with adults who remain calm and are able to reassure her before her fears are able to take hold. This is a great example to follow for any adult in this situation.
