Jim needs a trim! His hair is so long he can’t see through it, which results in a series of accidents. His mum decides it’s time to visit the barber. On the way they meet friends who all have smart hairstyles. But this is not enough to convince Jim to have his cut, and he beats a hasty retreat when mum asks him if he’s looking forward to his cut. Jim, unable to see through his unruly mop, runs headlong into a tree, falls in a puddle and hurts his knee. His opportunistic mum suggests they go and ask for a plaster in a local shop…which happens to be a hairdressers! The shop is a delightful place full of toys, goldfish and games. Mum gets Jim to make faces in the mirror, and a few snips later he has a smart new haircut. The final illustration shows Jim, beaming under his freshly-clipped fringe, looking proudly at his reflection in the mirror.
