The little girl in the story explains that her mum and dad don’t live together any more, so sometimes she lives at her mum’s house and sometimes at her dad’s flat. The book has flaps to lift showing the differences between what happens when she is at dad’s and what happens at mum’s (the toys and activities, birthday celebrations, outings and how her bedrooms are decorated). When the girl misses either parent, she chats to them by telephone. At her school play both parents come to watch (they are depicted sitting separately in the audience, smiling proudly). The book concludes with the girl saying that her parents (and all her family) love her a lot.
