Hodge the hedgehog is a hedge-hogger. He would rather have the hedge to himself and keeps all the other animals away until, worn out by all his shooing and grumpiness, he falls asleep. That’s when Mouse decides Hodge must be lonely so he invites all the animals around to spruce up Hodge’s hedge while he’s asleep. When Hodge sees the transformation in his home and all the hard work the animals have done he decides it is far more fun to share his hedge with all his new friends. Humorous, warmly-coloured illustrations and a strong narrative thread will charm children until Hodge’s final change of heart.
