Working sheepdog Bess has a litter of puppies: all are big and strong, except one (Collywobble) who is a shivery, wobbly little scrap. The other dogs become sheepdogs or pets, but no-one is sure what to do with Collywobble. He stays at home with Farmer Joe. One snowy day, Collywobble proves what he is capable of by initiating the rescue of Farmer Joe when his truck veers off the road. Collywobble saves the day and is given the opportunity to become a real working sheepdog.
