Long Nose and Little Legs are the best of friends but Long Nose is so afraid of the dark he can’t bear even to be out of doors as the light begins to fade. So the friends decide to stay up and wait for whatever it is that is so scary, and say ‘Boo’ to the Who in the dark. They walk into the forest and sit on a log while the dark gets darker and darker. Eventually they can’t even see the moon and stars. Long Nose is suddenly grabbed by the nose and can see the whites of ‘its’ eyes and something grabs hold of Little Legs’s legs. It is only when they both yell ‘Boo’ and ‘Shoo’ that they realise they are grabbing each other and there is no such thing as a ‘Who in the Dark’ and with their fears dispelled they laugh all the way home.
